Grossglockner Glacier

Grossglockner Glacier

Grossglockner Glacier.

The Grossglockner (3797 m), left, the Johannisberg (3453 m), right, and the glacier of Pasterze is the bottom of the valley. Note that the glacier is divided in two parts: the white ice coming from the white Johannisberg and the the black ice coming from the Grossglockner. The black part is in fact composed of ice covered by stones fallen from the peaks. On the right, the top station of the funicular railway.
